May 2025 | Issue 4 | Nurture
The Edit
Nurture. For thousands of years, humans have lived close together, sharing resources + taking care of one another. These bonds helped ensure the survival of the species and serve as a testament to the positive impact of putting intentional care into someone or something.
There is a common thread that connects every human - we all desire to love + be loved in return. It is in our DNA to care for each other and it gives us fulfillment. But nurturing doesn’t only apply to raising children or growing a garden. This month we’re focusing on how we can nurture all aspects of our lives - whether that be your health, friendships, skills or home. After all, anything you choose to put love into will only multiply that love back to you in return.
Design Inspiration
Design Tip 1:
Painting your space a soft color, like this one, can make the room feel lighter and brighter. We recently used Benjamin Moore’s, Morristown Cream - SW 1241 - for a subtle pink that is still neutral and added some texture with wallpaper. Adding wallpaper to a room is always a yes + will forever be a design staple! Don’t be afraid to accent the ceiling, a focal wall or a full room - order some samples and see what works!
Design Tip 2:
Layering textures and patterns is an easy and fun way to create a unique space. We enjoyed leaning into whimsical floral layers that are playful, yet sweet and calming, in this design project. We created an inviting, cozy vibe with tasteful decor to make the perfect sanctuary for a daughter, that’s no longer a baby, but not yet a teen so she can continue to grow in this space for years to come.

Mind
There are countless ways to nurture your mind, but with the weather warming up, we especially love spending time in nature. Being outdoors lowers stress + boosts your mood - by giving you a dose of vitamin D straight from the source! Studies have also shown that getting outdoors improves concentration and decreases anxiety + depression. Taking a break from technology is another great way to take care of your mind. Social media specifically, can be overwhelming with its constant influx of information and overstimulation. Stepping away allows your brain to reset and rest. Then, you can reconnect to yourself and the present moment. Use this time away to engage in activities that help cultivate your skills, and in turn nourish the mind, like learning an instrument, drawing or cooking.
